Calendar of Events  (Tentative)

Planned outing: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 9:30 to 4:00

Day outing to Irish Acres and Woodford Reserve

A motor coach ride through scenic horse country.  Stopping at Irish Acres to shop for antiques and gifts.  Enjoy an elegant lunch at their Glitz Restaurant.  After lunch, board the motor coach for a 15-minute ride to Woodford Reserve Distillery.  Tour the lovely setting and enjoy a leisurely tour of their historic buildings. The double tour trip is a real bargain for only $  40.00. 

(This is scheduled and paid for independently of the Meeting fees).

Meeting Highlights:

-    Motivational workshops are planned to stimulate and inspire attendees.  Vibrant and dynamic presenters will provide thought provoking and engaging opportunities.

-   Keynote speaker: Jack Jezreel, founder of "Just Faith",  will be featured as the keynote address at the Thursday morning breakfast to follow mass.

-   Bishop Quinn, Episcopal Advisor will be there and will (hopefully) offering a workshop.

-   Campus tours will be offered on Saturday.  Busses will constantly rotate between the Marriott Downtown and our campus.  The Louisville Council will be hosting lunch/cookout in conjunction with the campus tour.

-   All Conferences from across the country are invited to bring their Conference banner and join the Louisville Conferences in the Parade of Banners from the Marriott Downtown to the Cathedral of the Assumption for a beautiful liturgy Saturday afternoon.  Participation in the banner parade must be scheduled 2 weeks prior to the event.  (We hope to be led by the Irish Pipe Band – not confirmed)

-   Celebrate the feast day of Vincent de Paul on the 26th.

Social Events:

-   Friday evening cocktail party at the Churchill Downs Derby Museum with hors d’ oeuvres and a cash bar.  Enjoy a taste of Kentucky Derby elegance.

-   Saturday evening will feature a party with Kentucky flair.  The evening will feature a cash bar, a Bluegrass band and an opportunity to view items for the silent and live auctions.  Fun Bucks will be used to purchase items during the live auction.  Fun Bucks will be given away throughout the meeting up to noon on Saturday.   Silent auction items will require “real money.”  The Bluegrass Bonanza will be a lively, fun, and entertaining event with Kentucky specialties on the dinner menu.
