OPEN POSITION
Job Title: Grant Compliance Accountant
Reports to:  Director of Accounting
Classification:  Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary:  This position is primarily focused on grant compliance and reporting, reconciliation, billing, maintenance and communication, such as: Coordinating SVDP grants, maintaining grant schedules, preparing grant monthly/quarterly/annual reports, monitoring grants for compliance and reconciling grants to the general ledger. It also provides general accounting and administration support in the areas of financial preparation and reconciliation.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate all SVDP grants, maintain grant schedule, prepare reports and monitor grant billing.
2. Collaborate with program/case managers and department directors to maintain grant budgets and assist in identifying spending needs or shortfalls.
3. Track progress of all grants and ensures timely reporting to all funding sources.
4. Monitor issues/agencies of collaborative grants to ensure HUD compliance.
5. Review RFP and proposal procedures and clearly communicate these requirements to program staff to produce accurately, completed applications.
6. Represent SVDP in the Continuum of Care through the Coalition for the Homeless.
7. Other duties as assigned by Director of Accounting

Additional Accounting Responsibilities
1. Responsible for preparation of ongoing and month-end accounting journal entries, bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
2. Preparation of contract billings and/or invoices as required by grants or other arrangements with federal, state, local or other agencies/organizations. Maintain documentation to comply with contract requirements.
3. Assist with preparation of the annual budget and audit reconciliations.
4. Additional duties as assigned, from time to time.

Job Requirements:
1. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
2. Must possess strong time management and detail-orientation skills.
3. Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
4. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
5. Possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
6. Must be able to legally work in the United States.
7. Knowledge of HUD grant regulations and Tax Credits.
8. Must have reliable transportation.
9. Must have clean drug screening, background screening and TB test

Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the areas of accounting and grant administration.
