Please join us for our 3rd annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Saturday, Sept. 25 at beautiful Churchill Downs. Register in advance online, or on-site at 9am the day of the event. The Walk begins at 10am. All net proceeds will help the poor in our community. 

Donations to our four area Thrift Stores help our community in several ways. The stores offer a variety of quality, affordable merchandise, and all profits are turned back into SVDP services and programs that assist the poor.

Last year our Open Hand Kitchen served 78,339 meals, and our homeless shelters and housing programs provided 67,587 nights of lodging to men, women and children in need. People from all walks of life come through the doors of St. Vincent de Paul in search of help—and hope.

We've been helping people in Louisville, Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 1853. In the past 12 months, volunteers joyfully gave more than 86,000 volunteer hours to help the poor. Now, in these difficult economic times, we need your support more than ever.

Our Open Hand Kitchen is, in many ways, the heart and soul of our inner-city campus. We serve two free, hot meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to anyone in need. The homeless and the working poor rely on us now more than ever. Last year, calls to SVDP from families seeking help increased more than 68 percent versus one year ago.
