Last year our Open Hand Kitchen served more than 75,000 meals, and our homeless shelters and housing programs provided more than 66,000 nights of lodging to men, women and children in need. People from all walks of life come through the doors of St. Vincent de Paul in search of help—and hope.

We've been helping people in Louisville, Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 1853. In the past 12 months, volunteers joyfully gave more than 61,000 volunteer hours to help the poor. Now, in these difficult economic times, we need your support more than ever.

Our Open Hand Kitchen is, in many ways, the heart and soul of our inner-city campus. We serve two free, hot meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to anyone in need. The homeless and the working poor rely on us now more than ever. Last year, calls to SVDP from families seeking help increased more than 68 percent versus one year ago.
