Summertime at St. Vincent de Paul Louisville means that we see more kids on campus, all of which take part in the amazing educational and recreational programs at the Family Success Center. This year is no different. With approximately 80 kids expected to enroll in on-campus summer camps, we are excited to be an integral part in helping these students and families return for their first full and in-person school year after the pandemic.
Some of the goals of our summer programs include making sure students are properly enrolled to begin school in the fall, arranging for transportation, and meeting with Family Resource Officers and school counselors to discuss Individualized Education Plans/504 Plans and anything a family might need to help the student succeed beginning on day one.
All of our summer camp participants take part in educational and recreational programming, which offers experiences in Drama, Visual Art, Science, strategic games like Chess, and Lego Robotics. Periodic field trips provide unique opportunities to visit local attractions that may not be available to these students otherwise.
Your support this summer will ensure that the Family Success Center is equipped to give our students the best chance for positive momentum as they get ready for a challenging return to classes this fall along with fond memories of their camp experience that will last a lifetime. Support also extends into the fall with continued tutoring, homework assistance, and other recreational programs.
