Mary Alice Lawler, a fourth-grade teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School for 42 years, passed away last August at the age of 78. As part of her estate, she left over $7 million dollars to local organizations, one of which was St. Vincent de Paul Louisville. Ms. Lawler’s generosity is moving and comes at a time when new programs can greatly benefit from this gift.
Ed Wnorowski, Excutive Director/CEO, was quoted in The Record as saying, “This generous gift came at a very opportune time. Because of the shut down of the thrift stores, we had a huge loss in revenue last year. This will allow us to breathe a deep sigh of relief to get us through COVID, to be able to do additional good works in the community.”
We are eternally grateful and her gift will have a lasting impact on those we serve.
