The Food Pantry on St. Vincent de Paul Louisville’s campus celebrated five years of feeding those in need. Every Tuesday and Thursday, volunteers help pantry clients shop for groceries, and most other days volunteers are picking up food and stocking the shelves. This is truly a volunteer-run service, and we thank them. We also need to thank Dare to Care for their support and partnership in this effort.
During a brief ceremony, Father John Burke offered his blessing, and Donna Young spoke about the importance of this program that keeps food on the tables of so many. Eagle Scout Alexander Hasty, St. Albert’s Troop 327, was kind enough to build a table and two benches in honor of Deacon Mike Layman. The table and benches will sit outside the pantry and provide a comfortable place to rest and chat with friends.
