(WHAS11) — A southern Indiana girl with a dream to help keep Kentuckiana warm has come through again this year. Makenzie’s Coat Close drive collected 3,200 coats this year, and the give-away was held at St. Vincent de Paul. Makenzie Smith of Borden, Indiana, has been collecting coats for the needy for seven years. Some coats were also donated to public schools in Floyd and Clark counties. The give-away wrapped up Tuesday afternoon, but they do take coat donations throughout the year. Click here for more information.
