Mt. Carmel has seven active Vincentians and a parish filled with people who love to give back to the community. At Christmas, the parish generally helps the conference gather toys and clothing for children and families in need. This past year, they focused on creating gift packages for those who asked the Vincentians for prayers in 2021.
“It is important to reach out and really listen to the people who come seeking help,” explains Vincentian Jane Weber. “Sometimes being heard is all a person really needs.”
In addition to their regular function of helping those in need in their community, the Mt. Carmel Conference serves meals at the Open Hand Kitchen once a month, as COVID restrictions allow. They also provide food to the Kitchen twice a month, which is selected and delivered by one of the conference’s newest members.
When asked why she is a Vincentian, Jane Weber explains, “we are surrounded by Christians who want to do good. It is a community of sharing in the love of Christ and in celebrating that love through good works.”
We want to thank the wonderful Vincentians and parishioners at Our Lady of Mount Carmel for their generous and loving spirits.
