St. Vincent de Paul Louisville’s Thrift Store at 248 E. Market St. closed at the end of December. This location was SVDP’s first Thrift Store and opened in the 1990s. It has been an honor serving the Louisville Metro for a number of years and we appreciate all of the community support at this Thrift Store. However, we believe this strategic decision will allow us to better use our resources to rally around our mission of feeding, housing and supporting those in need with compassion and dignity. In mid-December, SVDP sold this property to the University of Louisville Real Estate Foundation. “While we may consider another retail location in the future, customers are greatly encouraged to visit our other two locations: 2217 Hikes Ln. at Bardstown Road and 10280 Shelbyville Rd. at Dorsey Lane,” said Patrick Watts, SVDP’s Director of Stores.
