Summer camp provides a chance for children in our programs and throughout the Smoketown and Shelby Park communities to enjoy a fun and educational summer. The camp, which runs from June 20 to July 29, gives kids a chance to enjoy field trips they may have had no other opportunity to experience. They also learn about drama, art, robotics, and more, all while having fun.
The summer camp is managed by Julio Anthony with the help of program staff and volunteers. The children are provided with breakfast and lunch and lots of opportunities to play and be kids.
“Many children in our neighborhood would not have opportunities or access to a summer camp that wasn’t in the neighborhood and free. We are providing these children with enrichment and support during the summer months,” says Julio.
“Summer can be a time of stress for both children and parents because of childcare needs and food insecurity. Our summer camp eliminates those concerns for six weeks and offers children a chance to learn while having fun.”
Donations from supporters, volunteers, and a dedicated staff ensure that our summer camp is there to support kids in need in the community.
We want to thank everyone who makes this program possible. It means the world to the children and to us.
