St. Vincent de Paul Louisville’s after-school program is available for the families we serve. Currently, the program has 25 children regularly in the program. The program runs from 3:30 to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
The program offers time for the kids to wind down after classes, a meal, and a homework hour supported by certified educators who work through JCPS’s Diversity, Equity, and Poverty Program. On some days, the hour between 6 and 7 p.m. provides demonstrations and training in STEM-based projects, life skills like basic finance or cooking, and arts and crafts.
“We want to give children educational opportunities they may not otherwise have a chance to experience,” explains Julio Anthony, program manager for the Family Success Center.
The staff provides time, education, and understanding to the children who spend time in after-school care. In addition, the children learn social skills and have an opportunity to strengthen their academic understanding.
Our thanks to those who created the opportunity for SVDP to work with these children. Your support means so much to the staff, children, and families touched by this program.
