St. Vincent de Paul Louisville’s staff, including case managers and their staff, are fanning out across the city this week to take part in volunteer activities this week as party of Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer’s #Give A Day Week of Service.
Today clients in our emergency recovery program spent the day sprucing up trails and garden beds at the Louisville Nature Center. David Tarullo, the recovery program’s manager, said the participants enjoyed working together as a team to help give back to their community.
On Thursday (April 22), Abbie Trowbridge, Angie Griffin, Beth White, Mike Eiden and Lonnie Williams, will take some of their clients to the Waterfront Botanical Gardens site to do Earth Day clean up.
Among the other projects being undertaken this week by case managers and clients were those at the Franciscan Shelter House, Newburg and Greenwood Boys and Girls Clubs, St. Joe’s, and Hosparus.
Here at the St. Vincent de Paul campus, the Louisville Police Crimes Against Children’s Unit team were here earlier in the week to install a new layer of mulch on our Family Success Center playground.
